Designed by the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, this multifunctional indoor venue is located in Barcelona's Montjuïc Parc. The Palau Sant Jordi also has halls that are part of the facility and can be used independently for meetings, parties and special occasions, new product launches and smaller events.

The INGESCO Solution:

INGESCO, as a company that specialises in systems for protection against lightning, implemented the protection of the structure of the Palau Sant Jordi and of the other ancillary premises, by:

• Designing and installing active and passive protection systems (protection with ESEs (early streamer emission rods) and a Faraday cage).
• Studying ground resistivity in order to evaluate the design of earth connections.

On this occasion, the nature of the materials from which the building is constructed are an integral part of the external system for protection against lightning.
