Characteristics

DLEOLOS K15FO series lightning counters have a fibre optics output for notifying lightning impact detections. The output signal generated by the lightning counter can be received by DL EOLOS FO-RCVR-DIN series receivers.

The lightning counter detects the lightning current impulse in the down conductor when it is conducted to ground by the lightning protection system. Detected lightning strikes are reported as events in the optical fibre output and, at the same time, accounted in one mechanical counter.

The high bandwidth magnetic sensor used in DL EOLOS K15FO series counters ensures a contact-free installation and a maintenance free operation.

The magnetic sensor used in these lightning counters allows the detection of lightning current without the need for electrical contact. Due to their operating characteristics and robust, hermetically sealed construction, the DL EOLOS K15FO series counters provide reliable, stable, and maintenance-free operation.
