In the packaging plant, located at 800 meters of altitude, the damage caused by lightning strikes had affected the machinery in more than one occasion, causing the temporary paralysis of the activity, which produced a serious impact on production.
Aguas do Paraño, decided to install Previstorm Thunderstorm Warning System (IEC 62793:2020) to have the necessary information in case of storm, thus facilitating preventive decision-making. In this case, the measures consist in the disconnection of the equipment from the external network, while enabling power from generator sets or support batteries, during the time the installation is sectioned from the network.
Objetive
- Having the necessary information as support of the Decision Assistance System (SAD), to disconnect the general network in the event of storms.
- Protecting people and equipment, minimizing economic losses.
