INGESCO has been recognized at the Global Hydrometeorological Excellence Awards 2025 in Vienna with a Highly Recommended mention for its innovation in lightning detection and early warning systems.
On October 13th and 14th, part of the INGESCO team traveled to Vienna (Austria) to attend one of the most prestigious events in the field of meteorology and extreme weather prevention: the Global Hydrometeorological Excellence Awards and the Meteorological Technology World Expo.
International recognition for excellence in lightning detection and prevention
On the night of October 13th, the Global Hydrometeorological Excellence Awards ceremony took place in Vienna. This international event, organized by Varysian, brought together for the first time global leaders, public and private institutions, and innovative companies from the fields of meteorology, hydrology, and climate services.
These awards were created to recognize the world’s most influential organizations for their contribution to the development of solutions, technologies, and services that improve the prediction, detection, and management of meteorological risks. In this first edition, INGESCO had the honor of being nominated in the category “Outstanding Lightning Detection and Early Warning Solutions”, alongside six other leading international companies in the sector.
During the ceremony, we received the special mention “Highly Recommended”, a recognition that fills us with pride and motivates us to continue striving for excellence in lightning risk prevention. This achievement reaffirms our dedication to research, innovation, and technological development, and strengthens our commitment to continue designing solutions that protect people, infrastructures, and environments from atmospheric electrical phenomena.
Networking and new opportunities at the Meteorological Technology World Expo
The following day, October 14th, we took advantage of our stay in Vienna to visit the Meteorological Technology World Expo, one of the world’s leading trade fairs dedicated to meteorological and climate technologies. It was an enriching day that allowed us to reconnect with international collaborators and clients, discover new technological solutions, and explore synergies with other companies and institutions in the sector.
