ALUMINOTHERMIC WELDING

Molds for making welds between different types of round or flat conductors and other conductors, grounding electrodes, rods, and metal structures.

REQUEST MORE INFORMATION

Aluminothermic welding is a process in which, thanks to the reaction produced by the reduction of copper oxide by aluminum, a durable joint is obtained between two metallic elements (copper-to-copper or copper-to-steel).

The reaction takes place inside a graphite mold into which the elements to be welded and the required charge have previously been inserted, resulting in a durable, compact, and homogeneous bond between the components.

The conductivity of the welded connection is equal to or greater than that of the two conductors being joined.

The connection is resistant to overloads or high currents.

Due to the wide variety of connections that can be made, as well as the different materials, conductors, and structures involved, our catalog includes the most common configurations. For any other type of connection, please consult us.

Characteristics

The molds were machined from a block of refractory materials (graphite). Its average duration, in normal use is 70 to 100 welds. A lid protects projections at the time of ignition.

There is a mold for each type of weld and element to be joined.
